Project Responsibilities

After being principal contractor for previous phases this project required the installation of an additional 30 wells at various geographically isolated sites. We were able to reduce the site time for installation from an industry average of 3-4 days down to 1.5 days per site which included all site run mechanical and I&E, commissioning and installation of site fencing and signage.

Well Surface Facility Construction

Challenges

Workshop fabrication, procurement of long lead items and delivery to a geographically isolated region prior to site installation of all Mechanical & I/E works. This required the timely deployment of resources to maintain critical path as governed by drilling activities to ensure site facilities are operable within a minimal duration from downhole completion.

Solutions Provided

Ago Vires provided all the procurement and construction management for the project. This also included offsite fabrication, logistics management, site delivery, custody transfer, site management of construction works, safety monitoring, expediting onsite materials for each site, onsite construction personnel (HA specialists), quality control & MDR, commissioning.

Lessons Learnt

Communication is key! We have developed a great working relationship with our customer which allowed for open and frank communications at site and at management levels. This openness has (1) afforded considerable project savings that we could pass on to our customer, and (2) ensured project road blocks are identified early and controlled professionally in partnership. These levels of trust and communication are not that common but they certainly beneficial for the project to deliver such a high level of efficiency and professionalism.

Additional Project Information

Ago Vires took on a wider scope with this project which included the procurement of long lead items almost 6 months in advance of the initial mobilisation date. This is an unusual opportunity that Ago Vires controlled right through the preliminary construction phase and delivered to coincide with its own prefabricated items as ‘single site’ delivery packages, completely in house.
